150 million from OPEC Fund to support Growth and Competitiveness in Jordan

Khaberni - The government signed, on Thursday, an agreement worth a total of $150 million with the OPEC Fund for International Development, to finance the second phase of the "Jordan for Growth and Competitiveness" program, during the World Bank Group’s Spring Meetings.

The agreement was signed by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Zeina Toukan, and the President of the OPEC Fund for International Development, Abdulhamid Alkhalifa, as part of supporting the economic reforms implemented by the Kingdom in cooperation with its international partners.

The program aims, according to the announced data, to implement targeted reforms that contribute to enhancing the business environment and expanding access to finance, supporting economic growth led by the private sector.

It is also expected that the program will reflect in improving the competitiveness of the national economy, increasing investments, in addition to providing new job opportunities across the Kingdom.

This funding is part of a partnership that includes the OPEC Fund, the World Bank, and the Jordanian government, to support economic policies that strengthen the resilience of the Jordanian economy and open new pathways for achieving sustainable growth.
