Khaberni - The Iranian Revolutionary Guard arrested 4 agents linked to the Israeli Mossad agency, according to what was reported by the official Iranian news agency "IRNA" on its Arabic-language website today, Thursday.
The agency mentioned that "the detainees provided Mossad intelligence officers with photos of some important and sensitive military and security sites on the internet during the third imposed war" that began with American-Israeli strikes on the Islamic Republic on February 28th.
The four detainees were stopped in the province of Gilan, which is located on the border of the Caspian Sea, according to "IRNA," but it did not mention the date of their arrest.
Iran regularly announces arrests and executions of individuals accused of espionage, and about a month ago, the Iranian authorities announced a wide-scale arrest campaign among those described as traitors and agents, amid escalating tension after targeting prominent Iranian security, military, and political leaders.
In recent months, the Iranian authorities announced a series of arrests and death sentences against individuals convicted of spying for Israel, and the Iranian parliament passed a new law in October that intensifies the penalties for those accused of collaborating with foreign intelligence services, especially American and Israeli.
