Khaberni - The British police, last Wednesday, arrested two people whose names were not mentioned, on suspicion of their involvement in attempting to set a Jewish synagogue on fire in the north of the British capital, London.
The police announced that they initially arrested a 47-year-old woman in Watford, a town located in northwest London, then detained a 46-year-old man in the same area, placing them under arrest on suspicion of committing an intentional arson.
The London police said last Wednesday that they were looking for suspects "wearing dark clothing and masks" who threw "two bottles that seemed to contain gasoline, in addition to a stone" at the synagogue shortly after midnight on Tuesday.
Neither of the bottles ignited, and the incident did not result in any damage or injuries.
Chief of police Luke Williams said, "We recognize the great concern this incident will cause in the community, especially following the terrorist attack that took place in Golders Green last month."
MP Sara Sakman for the area stated that she does not accept such incidents to become "the new normal."
She added in a statement, "British Jews should have the freedom to live their lives without fear, whether it's while taking their children to nursery or going to the synagogue."
This incident comes less than a month after 4 ambulances belonging to a Jewish charity were set on fire in London.
The ambulances were parked near a synagogue in the Golders Green area in northwest London, a neighborhood with a large Jewish population.
