Khaberni - Two deputies from the Aqaba governorate asked Prime Minister Jafar Hassan for an urgent inspection and to verify non-compliant practices in the city of Aqaba, related to the circulation of beverage products that carry Israeli labels.
In a memo raised by the deputies Hassan Al-Riyati and Lubna Al-Namour, it was mentioned that they received observations and complaints about a warehouse in the Al-Ma'amal area in Aqaba, which changes labels on "Pepsi" drink bottles by removing the original label and placing a new one in Hebrew indicating that it is made in Israel.
The deputies mentioned that these practices, if proven, constitute a severe violation of regulations and instructions, undermining consumer trust, and raise questions about the sources of these products and the mechanism of their entry into the local market.
They demanded the urgent deployment of a specialized inspection team to the site to verify the information and take legal actions against the offenders, in addition to stopping these practices and preventing their recurrence.
The deputies affirmed their rejection of the circulation of any products associated with Israel within the Jordanian market, emphasizing the necessity of protecting the consumer and the local market.
