Khaberni - American rapper Kanye West has postponed his scheduled concert in France amid escalating political opposition.
West was supposed to hold a concert at the Velodrome Stadium in Marseille on June 11, but the event faced growing criticism, according to the British news agency (PA Media).
The rapper posted on the X platform, saying: "After thinking, I have decided to postpone my concert in Marseille, France until further notice".
French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said on Tuesday to Politico that he is "firmly determined" to prevent the concert from taking place.
Earlier this month, West was unable to obtain a visa for Britain, leading to the cancellation of his headline appearance at the Wireless Festival following repeated anti-Semitic statements.
In March, Marseille Mayor Benoit Payan posted on the X platform saying he refused to allow the city to be "a stage for those who promote hatred and brazen Nazism".
He added, "Kanye West is unwelcome in Marseille".
