Khaberni - The UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced the resumption of in-person education for all students and members of both the academic and administrative bodies in public and private higher education institutions in the UAE starting from Monday, April 20, 2026. This follows the completion of necessary readiness and qualification plans, including the preparedness of buildings and facilities, updating security and safety procedures, and enhancing the readiness of academic and administrative staff, to ensure a safe and stable learning environment for students.
The ministry clarified that some private higher education institutions will have the flexibility to implement hybrid and distance learning models when needed, and according to approved regulations, taking into account each institution's readiness and the requirements of organized academic execution.
Higher education institutions, in coordination with the ministry and relevant bodies, continue to monitor the implementation of readiness and operation plans to ensure a smooth return to in-person learning according to the highest standards of safety and quality.
Educational institutions will remain prepared to shift to alternative education modes when necessary, ensuring the continuity of the educational process smoothly and flexibly.
