Khaberni - The family of the artist Sami Magawry is legally moving against those who promoted statements attributed to him that affect Egyptian women, with a categorical denial of what was circulated on social media platforms.
The family of the artist Sami Magawry announced their intention to take legal action against those described as offenders, after circulating statements attributed to him that include disparagement of Egyptian women and preference for others, confirming that these statements have nothing to do with him, and they are fabricated to harm his reputation.
The artist’s son clarified in press statements that his father never stated that Moroccan women are better than Egyptian ones, and he never made any remarks that diminish the standing of Egyptian women. Instead, he always emphasizes his respect and appreciation for them, stressing that what is being circulated has no basis in reality.
He added that the family decided to proceed with legal actions against everyone who promotes or republishes those statements, and anyone who deliberately insults the artist through these claims.
In the same context, Sami Magawry made sure to directly deny what was attributed to him, writing on his official «Facebook» account: «My dear ones, what is being circulated on social media in my name about the Egyptian lady is completely untrue, it is a lie and a falsehood, and I urge you to verify the accuracy of what is transmitted about me in the future, with all my regards and appreciation to you».
The artist had faced a wave of criticism in the past few hours, following the spread of those statements attributed to him, which included disparagement of Egyptian women, before he himself confirmed that they did not come from him, and he was unaware of their source.
