JordanianSyrian Memorandum of Understanding to Enhance Cooperation in Postal Services

Khaberni  - Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Engineer Sami Samirat, and the Minister of Communications and Information Technology of the Syrian Arab Republic Abdel Salam Heikal, signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance bilateral cooperation in the postal services sector.

This came at the conclusion of the second session of the Jordanian-Syrian Higher Coordination Council, which saw the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two sides in vital sectors.

According to a statement from the ministry today, Wednesday, the memorandum aims to strengthen the partnership between Jordan Post and Syria Post, enabling the development of the postal and logistics services system, and expanding cooperation in the fields of e-commerce and digital financial services, in addition to exchanging expertise and building capacities through joint training programs, and transferring best international practices in developing modern postal services.

The areas of cooperation also include developing cargo services and postal exchange, facilitating international mail, activating electronic postal remittances and express mail services, benefiting from electronic payment solutions, in addition to introducing automation and modern technologies to increase operational efficiency, and enhancing coordination in regional and international forums.
