Khaberni - CNN reported that recently published satellite images by Airbus company show remains of burnt American aircraft on an abandoned airfield in Iran.
It was pointed out that this location was used in a daring and risky operation carried out by the American forces to rescue a weapons systems officer whose F-15E fighter jet had been shot down inside Iran earlier this month.
The image, taken on April 10th of this year, shows large black marks at the eastern end of the 1200-meter long runway, likely from the burning aircraft, and several vehicles near the end of the runway are also visible.
Videos filmed by Iranian media just after the operation and pinpointed by CNN showed the American aircraft still burning on the runway.
The airfield is located in Isfahan province, in central Iran, approximately 50 kilometers south of the city of Isfahan.
Losses and Announcement
According to the New York Times, the operation involved considerable material losses, as American forces were forced to detonate two transport aircraft that had malfunctioned during the operation at a temporary base inside Iran, ensuring that their technologies did not fall into Iranian hands, before all special forces left Iranian airspace.
On April 5th of this year, American President Donald Trump announced the rescue of the pilot who had been shot down in an F-15 in Iran, praising the search operation that intensified over two days.
Trump described the operation via his platform "Truth Social" as "one of the boldest search and rescue operations in American history," affirming that the "brave warrior" officer was safe and is now receiving treatment.
Trump and senior members of his team followed the details of the operation moment by moment from the White House Situation Room, at a time when the Iranian Revolutionary Guard had announced the downing of an American drone south of Isfahan involved in the search efforts.
Later, Trump in statements to NBC said, "The enemy was fierce and numerous" during the rescue operations of the American pilots in Iran, noting that the Iranians believed they had captured the last pilot, "but this was not the case."
