Khaberni - Despite the sporting disappointment of being eliminated from the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League against Atlético Madrid, Barcelona did not leave empty-handed financially, as they succeeded in securing a "reward" that revitalized the Catalan club's coffers.
According to a report by "Sport", the total earnings from Hansi Flick's squad's participation in the current edition amounted to approximately 64.5 million euros, distributed as follows:
Participation fee: 18.6 million euros (fixed amount for each club in the league phase).
Sporting performance: 11.2 million euros, collected by the team from 5 victories (at a rate of 2.1 million for each win) and a single draw against Club Brugge (700,000 euros).
Position and shares revenue: the club earned 8.8 million euros as a result of finishing the league stage in fifth place, plus an additional two million for direct qualification.
Knockout stages: 11 million euros for reaching the round of 16, and 12.5 million euros following the elimination of Newcastle and reaching the quarter-finals.
Despite missing the opportunity to double these profits by reaching the semi-finals, this amount represents vital support for the Blaugrana's budget, in light of ongoing efforts to improve the club's situation and comply with the rules of fair financial play.
