Khaberni - The ALTF team from the College of Engineering at Amman Private University achieved a remarkable accomplishment by securing third place in the Firefighting Robot Competition (Firefighting Robot – FFEC-2026), held at the premises of Hussein Technical University with the participation of seventeen teams representing various Jordanian universities.
The team consisted of students Tala Sorour, Fadi Bashtawi, and Ibtisam Al-Assi, supervised by Dr. Basem Abu Zneid from the Department of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, and Dr. Mohammed Hassan from the Department of Communications and Computer Engineering, where the team presented an advanced model that reflects a high level of proficiency and innovation in designing and programming robots.
This achievement confirms Amman Private University's approach towards supporting creativity and student excellence, and its commitment to providing an educational environment that stimulates students to develop their practical skills and enhance team spirit and positive competition at the university level.
The Firefighting Robot Competition is one of the most prominent specialized robot competitions locally, aiming to stimulate students to invent smart technical solutions for simulating firefighting operations, contributing to connecting theoretical aspects with practical applications, and encouraging entrepreneurial projects in engineering and technology fields.
