Installation of the Longest Flagpole at Schools in Jerash in Preparation for Flag Day

Khaberni - Wael Abu Azam, the director of education in Jerash, said on Tuesday that the directorate installed the tallest flagpole in the kingdom's schools at a height of 14 meters, at Hassan Al-Kayed School, indicating that the Jordanian flag will be raised on it next Thursday to celebrate Flag Day.

Abu Azam stated in his interview with "Al-Mamlaka" that three flagpoles were installed within the directorate building.

He also mentioned that a circular has been issued to schools to allocate parts of Thursday morning's assembly to discuss the significance of the Jordanian flag and its colors.

He added that at nine o'clock on Thursday morning, balloons bearing the colors of the Jordanian flag will be launched in all schools across the province, accompanied by the participation of several students in the main celebration.

On his part, Mohammad Abu Al-Samn, the head of the Joint Services Council in Jerash Governorate, explained to "Al-Mamlaka" that about 24 flagpoles have been installed at the entrances to the governorate, with heights ranging between 5 and 6 meters.

He added that the council's staff commenced the installation of flags at the governorate's entrances, noting that activities on Thursday will include distributing flags to school students and residents within the governorate.

In the same context, Aqla Al-Qadiri, the director of culture in Jerash, pointed out that seven flagpoles have been installed, including six at a height of 6 meters, and one flagpole at a height of 11 meters, indicating that the cultural center and surrounding areas have been decorated with flags, in preparation for celebrating Flag Day.

In turn, Abdulmohsen Binat, the head of the Sof Camp Improvement Committee, stated that the committee began installing six flagpoles at the camp's entrances, in addition to decorating the commercial shops and streets with Jordanian flags, using ropes stretched between the streets.

He added that flags will be distributed, and popular events organized inside the camp on Thursday, including distributing sweets to celebrate the occasion.

Kayed Ghayth, the head of the Gaza Camp Improvement Committee, mentioned that a high flagpole was installed inside the camp, along with decorating the entrances and hanging pictures of His Majesty King Abdullah II, in addition to organizing popular events that include distributing flags and sweets.

For his part, Ali Shawqa, the executive director of Greater Jerash Municipality, clarified that the municipality has started installing flags on 234 flagpoles distributed in various areas under its jurisdiction, with varying heights, as part of the preparations to celebrate Flag Day.
