Khaberni - Coinciding with the Kingdom's celebration of Flag Day, the municipality of Umm al-Jimal lit up the Umm al-Jimal archaeological site and the Umm al-Jimal gateway in the colors of the Jordanian flag.
The municipality stated, on Tuesday, that its staff began installing flags on poles and along road and public square sides, as well as on municipal buildings and facilities, in line with the national campaign "Our Flag High".
The head of the Umm al-Jimal municipal committee, Mohammad Abu Alim, stated that the Jordanian flag represents a story of pride and dignity, a symbol of the state's sovereignty and the citizen's dignity, highlighting that this banner will always fly high thanks to the wisdom of the Hashemite leadership and the cohesion of the Jordanian people.
He added that Jordan's national Flag Day is a unifying national occasion that reinforces the symbolism and implications of the flag, where Jordanians recall on this day the sacrifices and offerings made by their forefathers to keep our flag lofty, forming a national memory and a history of its gallant heroes, and present in various official and national events and celebrations.
Abu Alim noted that celebrating Jordan's National Flag Day represents an opportunity to renew the covenant and loyalty to His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, affirming that commitment to the values of the flag is embodied in the dedication to work and preserving the nation's gains and achievements.
