Khaberni - After the conclusion of the preliminary talks between Tel Aviv and Beirut in Washington, the Israeli Ambassador to the United States, Yehiel Leter, stated today, Tuesday, "Agreed with Lebanon on the necessity of liberating it from Hezbollah."
Yehiel Leter continued in press statements, "We informed the Lebanese delegation that the security of Israelis is non-negotiable," pointing out that Lebanon currently has an opportunity after weakening Iran and Hezbollah.
He also said, "Negotiations with Lebanon are a decisive victory over Hezbollah," adding, "We want a long-term vision for clearly demarcated borders with Lebanon."
He further added, "The Lebanese government has not responded to Hezbollah's rejection of the negotiations," pointing out that it clarified during the talks that it no longer wishes to be "occupied" by the Hezbollah group.
He added that Israel is working with Lebanon on both security and civilian levels.
