Khaberni - A surgical medical team at Ma'an Government Hospital, by the grace of God, successfully saved the life of an elderly lady aged 107 years, who was suffering from complete intestinal obstruction.
During exploratory laparotomy, it was found that there was an inflamed and widespread cancerous tumor in the small intestine, the cecum, and the ascending colon, accompanied by a purulent collection in the abdominal wall and severe and complex adhesions.
Despite the severity of the condition and the advanced age of the patient, the tumor was successfully removed, and the affected parts of the intestines and colon were excised. A side opening (colostomy) was created for excretion, in a precise and complicated operation that required extraordinary effort. The operation involved a comprehensive team of surgeons, anesthesiologists, nursing staff, and technicians, reflecting the highest levels of professionalism and teamwork in the public health sector.
