The Cabinet approves the system of the Jordanian Academy for Government Management

Khaberni - The Cabinet, in its session held on Tuesday, chaired by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, approved the system of the Jordanian Academy for Government Management for the year 2026, which will serve as the legal successor to the Institute of Public Administration.

The establishment of the Academy aims to enhance its capabilities and increase the responsibilities for approximately 200,000 public sector employees by improving employee efficiency as a primary goal along with the requirements of public sector modernization, developing a modern, flexible system for building governmental capacities, enhancing competencies and skills, improving performance efficiency in public sector institutions, and expanding access to training.

The Academy will take charge of preparing and qualifying governmental leaders and building their capacities, including municipalities and universities, which contributes to the development of leadership, administrative, technical, and behavioral competencies for public sector employees.

The establishment of the Academy also aims to promote innovation and support the policy formulation and decision-making processes related to government performance and services provided.

The establishment of the Academy comes in response to modernization requirements and is aligned with digital transformation and the use of artificial intelligence in government work.

The Academy will adopt a collaborative model between the government, universities, and the private sector, enabling Jordanian companies to provide innovative educational and training solutions and qualify them to compete in regional and international markets.

The establishment of the Academy represents an investment in governmental human capital, as it strives to address the challenges faced in developing the capacities of public sector employees and empowering them.

The creation of the Academy allows a shift from the model of scattered training courses to a comprehensive national system for capacity building, linked to career paths and modernization priorities.

The establishment of the Academy aims to unify the national frameworks and standards for accrediting educational programs and training technologies and preparing training service providers for government entities and developing frameworks for digital learning and blended learning.
