Khaberni - The director of the International Energy Agency, Fatih Birol, stated on Tuesday that the high current oil prices do not reflect the severity of the threat posed by the war in Iran on the global energy markets.
Birol continued: "And they may rise significantly if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened."
Birol added during the Semaphore Summit on the global economy in Washington, "In my opinion, the prices do not reflect the current situation."
He explained that if the Strait of Hormuz is not open to the free flow of oil and gas, the world could see prices much higher than the current levels around 100 dollars per barrel.
