Khaberni - The General Directorate of Passports confirmed the start of receiving applications for issuing electronic entry permits to Mecca for residents working during the Hajj season of the year 1447 AH, within a technical integration with the "Permit" platform through the "Absher" and "Muqeem" platforms, without the need to visit the Passport Department offices.
The Passports Department stated that this step comes as part of facilitating procedures and enhancing the efficiency of the services provided, enabling beneficiaries to issue permits quickly and directly through digital channels.
Beneficiary Categories via “Absher Individuals”
It explained that the “Absher Individuals” platform allows issuing entry permits for several categories, including citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, holders of premium residence, investors, mother of a citizen, domestic workers, and non-Saudi family members, after fulfilling the requirements and attaching the necessary documents.
It also indicated that the issuance of permits for workers in establishments is done through the Makkah Entry Permits Gateway via the "Muqeem" platform, which includes workers in establishments located in Mecca or those associated with work contracts with them during the Hajj season.
