Including 53 projects Saudi Arabia launches the virtual volunteering program in Syria

Khaberni  - In a move towards enhancing Saudi Arabia’s immediate response to the services in the Syrian health sector, the Kingdom has launched the Saudi virtual volunteering program in Syria , which includes approximately 53 projects and 239 precise specializations in the fields of medicine, nursing, paramedics, and health management, benefiting around 18,210 individuals.

 

The program aims to develop the capabilities of Syrian health staff and enhance their efficiency, through advanced training programs implemented by qualified volunteers from various sectors, in addition to focusing on transferring Saudi expertise and building professional skills in priority specializations in coordination with the Syrian Ministry of Health, thereby improving performance quality, enhancing institutional readiness, and ensuring the sustainability of basic services provision.

 

On his part, Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, General Supervisor of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, explained that the launch of the Saudi virtual volunteering program in Syria is based on an institutional work system of the center, which has become an "inspiring international model", noting that the center has operated more than 1,300 volunteering programs.

In a related context, the head of the Saudi relief arm mentioned that the same program designed a pathway that transcends the boundaries of the current circumstances towards the horizons of sustainable knowledge empowerment, to serve as a bridge linking Saudi generosity with professional leadership of Syrian institutions, through a system comprising 53 volunteering projects in four major pathways branching into 239 precise specialties aligning with priorities of the Syrian Ministry of Health, and representing the foundation stone for upcoming phases that will include other vital sectors and needy countries.

On his part, Dr. Musab Al-Ali, Syrian Minister of Health, affirmed that the program targets the development of skills of workers in several vital specialties including doctors and health practitioners in intensive care units, surgeries, neonatal units, burns units, and others, which enhances the quality of health services provided to patients in Syria .

The minister also revealed in his remarks that the program would expand to include other vital trainings in education, higher education, emergencies, and disasters, contributing to "building the Syrian human on solid and strong scientific foundations", as he said, appreciating the leadership of the Kingdom for supporting and backing the Syrian people throughout the past years.
