Qatar Any hints of discussions with Iran to stop attacks against us are incorrect

Khaberni - Majed Al-Ansari, advisor to the Prime Minister of Qatar and spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated on Tuesday that any insinuations that there are discussions with Iran regarding stopping its attacks on Qatar are unfounded.

During a press conference, Al-Ansari confirmed the rejection of his country's allegations regarding an agreement with the Iranians, emphasizing the need to maintain the ceasefire between Iran and the United States, and focusing on securing it.

He added that solving the Strait of Hormuz crisis must be regional, involving the neighboring countries that rely on it, and that the security of the strait cannot be threatened by any party, and there should be no preconditions for its opening.

Al-Ansari explained that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz is urgent, and everyone needs to work towards a sustainable solution, noting that there has been no problem in managing the strait and that the consequences of its closure extend beyond energy markets.

He pointed out that there is communication with partners to reopen the strait and stop the negative consequences of its closure.

He continued: "The language of threats is unacceptable, and we deal with all threats to ensure the safety of our country," confirming the resilience of Qatar's economy and the economies of the region despite the consequences.

Al-Ansari pointed out that all crises are resolved through dialogue, highlighting his country's support for Lebanon's efforts to de-escalate and end the war, and that coordination regarding developments in Lebanon is ongoing with all parties.

He said that Qatar supports Pakistan's efforts in mediating between Iran and the United States, and that there are intensive regional contacts currently underway to make the mediation efforts successful and reduce escalation.

He added: "We are awaiting confirmation of a new round of negotiations in Pakistan, and we support these diplomatic efforts."
