Khaberni - As part of Arab Amman University's commitment to enhance the practical aspect of its students and elevate their technical and cognitive skills to keep pace with rapid developments in the aviation sector, following directives from Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Wadyan, the university president, and with the support of Professor Dr. Malek Al-Salem Al-Enaqreh, the dean of the College of Aviation Sciences, the college organized a specialized training workshop titled "Communication and Navigation ND-PFD", presented by Engineer Ahmad Al-Omari from the Middle East Academy of Aviation Sciences.
The training workshop provided an advanced practical explanation of navigation and communication systems linked to Navigation Display (ND) and Primary Flight Display (PFD) screens on modern aircraft. Engineer Al-Omari reviewed the basic concepts of how these systems operate, mechanisms of reading the data and information displayed on the flight control screens, in addition to clarifying their vital role in supporting safe aviation operations, enhancing the pilots' and engineers' awareness of the operational indicators related to navigation and communication systems. The workshop also highlighted the practical applications of airborne communication and navigation systems, their importance in integrating within the modern aviation system, and their role in improving the accuracy of air guidance, and enhancing decision-making efficiency in the cockpit, which contributes to achieving the highest standards of aerial safety and operational reliability in the aviation sector.
The workshop witnessed notable interaction from the students through many questions and inquiries related to the operation of ND and PFD systems, and how to deal with potential faults, in addition to presenting real-world examples from the work environment in the aviation sector, where Engineer Al-Omari provided comprehensive answers supported by his practical experience in the field of navigation systems, communication, and aircraft maintenance.
