Khaberni - Chinese television reported that President Xi Jinping proposed four initiatives to maintain peace in the Middle East, including respecting sovereignty and coordinating development with security.
The Chinese leader presented his proposals during a meeting in Beijing with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al Nahyan.
The television channel's report stated: "Xi Jinping proposed four initiatives to maintain and enhance peace and stability in the Middle East."
The report noted that these proposals particularly emphasized adhering to the principle of peaceful coexistence, respecting the national sovereignty of the region's countries, supporting the sovereignty of international law, as well as coordinating security and development.
The Chinese leader said, "The Gulf and the entire Middle East should be supported in improving their relations, and contributing to the construction of a joint, comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable security structure for the Middle East and Gulf regions, and strengthening the foundations of peaceful coexistence."
He emphasized that secondly, the sovereignty of the Gulf and Middle East countries as a whole and their regional security and integrity must be truly respected, and the security of their populations, infrastructure, and institutions must be appropriately protected.
Thirdly, according to him, adherence to the prestige of international law should be maintained to prevent the world from returning to the law of the jungle.
In the fourth proposal, Xi Jinping observed, saying: "Security is a precondition for development, and development is a guarantee of security. All parties should create a favorable environment, and channel positive energy towards the development of the Gulf and Middle East countries."
Meanwhile, the Chinese Premier Li Qiang expressed his country's readiness to continue playing a constructive role in achieving peace in the Gulf region. Li's statements came during talks with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi in Beijing.
Li noted that since the outbreak of the conflict in Iran, China has been in close contact with the relevant parties and is actively committed to promoting peace and ending the war.
