Khaberni - A member of the National Security Committee in the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, said that any naval vessel attempting to impose a blockade on the Strait of Hormuz "will be sunk by the Iranian armed forces".
Boroujerdi added that what he described as "the symbol of American power", referring to aircraft carriers, has not been effective in confronting Iran, considering that Washington "has retreated its destroyers from the region fearing Iran’s missile and naval capabilities".
The Iranian official described the imposition of a blockade on the Strait of Hormuz by President Donald Trump as "lacking any military basis", considering the move "merely a propaganda show".
He also mentioned that the United States "does not possess the necessary means to impose a blockade on the strait", adding that NATO countries are not prepared to support such a step.
Boroujerdi confirmed that any military action in this direction "will face an immediate response", emphasizing that the Iranian forces "will deal with any such attempt before it is carried out".
