Khaberni - Tests on Turkish star Hande Erçel revealed a bizarre contradiction, where her blood and hair samples came back negative, while her urine test detected opiate compounds in her body, keeping her under investigation.
These results come at a critical time as Turkey witnesses its biggest drug case in the history of its entertainment industry, with judicial investigations in Istanbul reaching prominent figures from the worlds of art, sports, and business, thus ending the controversy that has dominated the Turkish public in recent months.
Tests on star Ibrahim Çelikkol showed more serious results, indicating conclusively the presence of cocaine and its metabolites in his hair, a result also recorded in the samples of the music producer "Diha Bilimler," strengthening the hypothesis that these celebrities had consumed prohibited substances during earlier periods.
Laboratory tests for artist Mustafa Ceceli indicated the presence of cocaine in his hair sample, despite the blood test taken during the raids in early April showing a negative result.
Tests also confirmed the presence of the narcotic substance (THC) in the blood and hair samples of artist Ilkay Şenjan, adding their names to the list of suspects in this case that has shaken the artistic circles.
Good news came for businessmen Hakan Sabancı, Vikret Orman, and Burak Elmas, after medical reports yielded negative results for all their tests, leading to their exoneration from the direct suspicions surrounding them at this stage of the investigations.
The roots of the case date back to December last year, when Turkish authorities began detaining prominent journalists, before the scope of the investigations gradually expanded during January and February, leading up to March which saw the summoning of high-profile individuals like Hande Erçel for questioning.
The judicial authorities are currently continuing their work to unravel the entire network and determine the legal responsibilities of each party, in a case considered the largest of its kind in the modern Turkish artistic and social milieu, given the prominence of the names involved and the diversity of sectors included in the raids.
