Is it acceptable to pray for a suicide victim Egyptian Awqaf responds

Khaberni - The Egyptian Ministry of Awqaf confirmed that a suicide victim is treated like any other deceased Muslim in full; they are washed, shrouded, prayed over, and buried in the Muslim cemeteries.

The ministry confirmed that suicide is a grave sin. However, the Sharia does not close the door of mercy; the Muslim who commits suicide is under the care of God and His will. Prayers are made for him, and he is prayed over. Forgiveness is sought for him, and God's mercy encompasses him, especially if he is captive to a mental illness that impaired his will.

This announcement came in response to inquiries following the actions of an Egyptian blogger named "Basent Suleiman" who ended her life by jumping from the thirteenth floor of a residential tower in the Smouha area of Alexandria during a live broadcast on "Reels" on Facebook.

The girl appeared in a disturbed psychological state during the broadcast, showing signs of sadness and psychological exhaustion before suddenly ending her life, leaving viewers in shock and helpless to intervene.
