Child Saves Parents from a Terrifying Digital Detainment Lasting 10 Hours

Khaberni - An Indian child in the eighth grade independently ended a continuous 10-hour ordeal that his parents suffered under the "digital detainment" in Prem Nagar, Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh.

The incident began when the local merchant Sanjay Saxena and his wife received a call from unknown individuals posing as investigators from an intelligence agency, falsely accusing them of being linked to terrorist activities and involved in a large embezzlement scheme worth millions of rupees.

The fraudsters forced the couple to remain under continuous visual surveillance via a video call, prohibiting them from leaving the house or communicating with any external party, brandishing a fake arrest warrant to enhance the state of terror, according to "India Express."

The criminals exploited the panic that struck the parents to extract sensitive bank information, and were on the verge of completing the fund withdrawal and transfer process for their benefit.

This situation continued for many hours in which the couple followed all the strict instructions, until their son "Tanmay" intervened late at night, after he became suspicious of his parents' peculiar behavior.

The child decisively resolved the situation when he switched the phone to "airplane mode," completely cutting off the connection despite his terrified parents' resistance, thereby thwarting the theft attempt at its crucial final moments.

The next morning, the family went to the Prem Nagar police station to file a formal complaint, and when the fraudsters attempted to reconnect as soon as the phone was turned on again, they found the police on the other end of the line.

From his side, the city police officer confirmed the case was officially recorded, urging citizens not to share any financial data under threat, and to immediately report any calls alleging the existence of a "digital detainment," as this practice is not legal in the first place.
