Khaberni - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi met in Abu Dhabi on Monday evening with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the brotherly United Arab Emirates.
Safadi and Sheikh Abdullah discussed during the meeting the developments in the region, particularly the brutal Iranian attacks that targeted Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, and a number of brotherly and friendly countries, and the serious repercussions of these attacks on regional and international security and stability, international navigation, energy supplies, and the global economy.
Safadi and Sheikh Abdullah condemned these attacks, which constitute a flagrant violation of state sovereignty, international law, and the United Nations Charter.
Safadi reaffirmed the Kingdom's absolute solidarity with the United Arab Emirates in all measures and steps it takes to defend its sovereignty and security, and ensure the safety of its citizens and residents.
Sheikh Abdullah affirmed the Emirates' full solidarity with the Kingdom against the Iranian attacks that targeted it.
The ministers also discussed the developments after the Islamabad meeting and the ceasefire announcement between the United States and Iran, and the importance of enhancing international collective action to establish sustainable peace and security in the region, ensuring the cessation of all causes of tension over the past decades, and contributing to achieving the aspirations of its peoples for development and economic prosperity.
Safadi and Sheikh Abdullah discussed the developments in the Gaza Strip and emphasized the need to implement all the clauses of U.S. President Donald Trump's plan about Gaza and enhance the humanitarian response to meet the needs of the sector.
They also emphasized the need to stop the deterioration in the occupied West Bank and halt all the illegitimate Israeli actions that undermine the two-state solution.
Safadi and Sheikh Abdullah confirmed the depth of the historic brotherly relations that bind the Kingdom and the Emirates and the keenness to enhance them in various fields in a way that serves the developmental priorities of both countries and their common interests, and brings good and prosperity to the two brotherly peoples.
The ministers affirmed the continuation of coordination, consultation, and cooperation in efforts to enhance security and stability in the region and confront the shared challenges.
