Khaberni - Israeli forces, on Monday, launched an attack to take control of the town of Bint Jbeil, a major town in southern Lebanon, in a continuous escalation just one day before historic talks between representatives of the Israeli and Lebanese governments in Washington.

The Lebanese group "Hezbollah" objected to negotiating with Israel, with Hezbollah’s Secretary-General Naim Qasim calling on the Lebanese government on Monday to cancel the scheduled Tuesday meeting between the Lebanese and Israeli ambassadors in Washington, describing the talks as futile, which reflects the severely exacerbated political tension within Lebanon.
