The US Military Imposes Naval Control in the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea

Khaberni - The US Central Command stated in a notice to mariners on Monday that the US military will impose naval control in the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea east of the Strait of Hormuz, and this measure will include all ships regardless of the flag they fly.

The memo indicated that the naval control will come into effect at 1400 GMT on Monday.

The notice read, "Any ship entering or leaving the blockaded area without permission will be subject to interception, redirection, or detention."

It stated, "The control will not hinder the movement of neutral navigation through the Strait of Hormuz to and from non-Iranian destinations."

The blockade, which the United States announced its intention to impose on Iranian ports following failed negotiations in Islamabad, begins on Monday, leading to a surge in oil prices.

According to Washington, the blockade begins at 14:00 GMT on Monday, affecting all ships headed to or sailing from Iranian ports.

US President Donald Trump confirmed the timing and wrote on the Truth Social platform, "The United States will impose a blockade on ships entering and leaving Iranian ports starting April 13 at 10 AM Washington time."

The sudden announcement of the blockade, along with the failed negotiations in Islamabad, has raised new concerns about global oil supplies.
