The new GR Corolla model is based on the deep-rooted sporting heritage of Toyota, from the propulsion systems and dynamic aerodynamics package to a cockpit that focuses on the driver's aspirations. Based on the engineering expertise derived from competitions and professional drivers' interactions with the racetracks, Toyota succeeded in designing a car that precisely responds to driver inputs and mass production. At the heart of the GR Corolla shines a three-cylinder, 1.6-liter G16E-GTS Dynamic Force turbo engine, inspired by the cars participating in the World Rally Championship. Thanks to its lightweight and compact design, the engine delivers significant power, generating 296 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and a torque of 400 Newton-meters between 3,250 and 4,600 rpm. With extensive testing on race tracks, the engine provides unique mid-range acceleration out of corners, with the capability to endure harsh operating conditions for extended periods.
This engine power flows through the active all-wheel-drive system GR-FOUR, which continuously works to optimize torque distribution on all four wheels for maximum grip and direct control. Customers can choose between a six-speed manual transmission for an interactive driving experience or an eight-speed automatic transmission GR-DAT, specially tuned to provide high performance and quick response.
