The Public Works begins maintenance work on Wadi Araba Road

Khaberni - The Ministry of Public Works and Housing has started implementing the third phase of the maintenance project for the main Wadi Araba Road, within its ongoing program to improve the vital road network and enhance traffic safety in the southern regions.

The implementation period is 45 calendar days, overseen by the Aqaba Governorate Public Works Directorate, with the project funded by the Aqaba Governorate Council.

The scope of work includes maintaining damaged sections of the road with a total area of about 8000 square meters, and approximately 1 km in length, which contributes to improving the efficiency of the road and the level of service provided to its users, especially since it is one of the vital roads serving the commercial and tourist movement in the region.

This project completes a series of maintenance phases carried out by the ministry on Wadi Araba Road, where the first phase included the Risha area in 2023, followed by the second phase in 2024 in the Bir Madhkur area, then the third phase in 2025 in the same area, leading up to the fourth phase planned for execution during the current year 2026 in the Abu Khushaibah area.

The ministry confirmed that these works are part of its regular plan for road maintenance, aiming to extend their operational life and enhance traffic safety elements, in addition to supporting economic development in the areas served by the road.
