Khaberni - Today, Monday, the House of Representatives approved an amended bill for the civil status law, including important amendments to the mechanisms for registering civil incidents, and reducing identity loss fines, alongside imposing new financial obligations and organizing notification procedures.
The council approved Article (4) of the amended bill during a legislative session, which included organizing the mechanisms for registering civil incidents more precisely, obligating the relevant authorities and citizens to report these incidents within the legally specified deadlines.
The article also stipulated the adoption of modern electronic means in documenting data and linking official institutions, which contributes to enhancing the efficiency of government work and accelerating data registration procedures.
New Fine to Enhance Compliance
The amendments included imposing a financial penalty of 10 dinars for failing to report civil incidents within the specified period, aiming to enhance compliance with the law and ensure the accuracy of official records.
The council emphasized that this step comes as part of efforts to develop the Civil Status Department and improve the quality of national data, in line with the digital transformation in government services.
