Khaberni - The Jordan Customs’ Anti-Smuggling Directorate patrols managed to seize an unlicensed workshop inside a residential apartment; used for manufacturing counterfeit cosmetics without obtaining the necessary official approvals.
The customs authority clarified that the seized workshop lacked the minimum standards of public health and safety, revealing the use of raw materials of unknown origin, in addition to the seizure of quantities of counterfeit containers and products ready for distribution in the market, which poses a direct threat to the health and safety of the citizens.
Coordination took place with the Food and Drug Administration to take the necessary legal actions according to the established rules.
The Jordan Customs Department affirmed that its staff, through national joint efforts and close cooperation with various monitoring entities, operates with high efficiency to combat all forms of smuggling and illegal manufacturing, due to its negative impacts on the national economy and community health.
The Jordan Customs Department urges citizens to cooperate and report any practices or violations that could harm the national economy or citizen health through the toll-free number (105), designated for the anti-smuggling operations center.
