Khaberni - China called for no disruption to navigation in the Strait of Hormuz after a day of U.S. President Donald Trump's threat to impose a blockade on Iranian ports.
The spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Guo Jiakun, in a press conference stated that "the Strait of Hormuz is an important international commercial passage for goods and energy, and maintaining its security, stability, and unobstructed movement is in the common interest of the international community."

He added that China is ready to work with all parties to protect energy security and supplies.
On Sunday, President Donald Trump announced that the United States would impose a blockade on the Strait of Hormuz following the stalled talks in Pakistan to end the war with Iran.
Trump stated on the social media platform "Truth Social": "Effective immediately, the US Navy, the best in the world, will begin the operation to impose a blockade on all ships attempting to enter or leave the Strait of Hormuz. The blockade will start soon. Other countries will participate in this blockade. Iran will not be allowed to profit from this illegal extortion activity."

The US Central Command, in a post on "X" late Sunday evening, announced that the US military will begin implementing the blockade on Monday at 10:00 AM Eastern Time.
The command added that it would provide additional information to commercial vessels before the blockade begins.
On Monday, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that his country would not be drawn into a war with Iran regardless of the pressures, nor would it support control over the Strait of Hormuz.
In a conversation with BBC 5 Live, Starmer said that reopening the strait is extremely important.
He added, "I see it as necessary to completely open the strait, which has been the focus of our efforts in the past period, and we will continue to work on this."
