Micro Center breaks the memory crisis Abundant supply and soaring prices

Khaberni - At a time when global markets are suffering from a severe shortage of computer components, especially memory and storage units, it seems that Micro Center is going against the trend, with a notable availability of stock in some of its stores, but without any indicators of decreasing prices.

A global crisis hits RAM and SSD
The technology markets are experiencing an unprecedented rise in the prices of RAM memories and SSD drives, driven by the massive demand from artificial intelligence data centers, which consume huge amounts of global production.

This accelerated demand has led to a decline in stock levels at manufacturers, which has directly reflected on prices that have jumped to record levels, becoming unaffordable for a wide range of users, according to a report published by "androidheadlines".

For example, the price of some "Samsung" disks with a capacity of 2 terabytes has risen to more than $600, after previously selling for less than $200 just a few months ago, and even reached as low as $120.

Plenty of stock but prices burn pockets
Despite this turbulent scene, reports have shown that one of the "Micro Center" branches has a huge stock of storage units and RAM memories, raising questions about how these quantities are secured amidst the crisis.

However, this abundance doesn't necessarily mean attractive deals, as the company continues to adhere to the high market-prevailing prices, which is expected in light of the rising purchase costs from manufacturers.

According to posts circulated on the "Reddit" platform, one user shared images showing store shelves fully stocked with storage components and memory, a rare scene currently.

Shocking prices despite availability
Among the notable examples, a 2 terabyte storage disk of the model “Samsung 9100 Pro” is being offered at a price of $680, a figure that clearly reflects the inflation that has affected this sector.

Will prices drop soon?
Despite the bleak forecasts indicating that the crisis will continue for years, consumers are looking forward to major discount seasons like “Black Friday”, hoping that prices might see some reduction, even if temporarily.

But until then, it seems that the market equation will remain: limited global stock, high demand, and prices continue to soar.
