The Public Works launches a project to light the Amman development corridor using solar energy

Khaberni - The Ministry of Public Works and Housing has commenced the implementation of a modern lighting project for the Amman development corridor, after completing all technical and contractual procedures and finally awarding the tender, at a total cost of 1.4 million dinars.
The project spans 42 km, where the technical teams have begun supplying and installing high-efficiency LED lighting units that operate entirely on solar energy, covering the entire corridor route, with the highest priority given to vital intersections and the entry and exit points and sections experiencing heavy traffic movements, to ensure the highest standards of traffic safety and night vision in accordance with internationally adopted specifications.
The project relies on smart lighting technologies that provide an advanced automatic control system that regulates the brightness of the lighting depending on the traffic density and nighttime timings, and the system also allows remote monitoring of the performance of the poles and batteries to ensure operational sustainability and quick maintenance.
The importance of relying on solar energy provides the system with complete independence from the traditional electrical grid, eliminating obstacles of power outages or incidents of cable tampering, with a guarantee of storing sufficient energy to operate efficiently even in cloudy weather conditions, serving the ministry's vision of transitioning towards green and smart infrastructure.
