Khaberni - Mohammad Al-Ayaseereh, a player from the national taekwondo team, won the bronze medal for the over 78 kg category in the 4-star World Junior Championship held in Uzbekistan, after losing in the semifinals to Uzbek player Ali Shaher Bak 0-2.
Al-Ayaseereh qualified for the semifinals after defeating Azerbaijani Mammadov, Mongolian Bilguutei Bat Erdene, Kazakhstani Amanay Koralbayev, and Mexican Chavez Espinoza.
National team players Fatima Al-Abdallat and Zeinab Basila were eliminated from the tournament; Fatima Al-Abdallat won her first match in the under 46 kg category against Kazakhstani Sulu Abdullah 2-0, lost her second match against Spanish Adriana Rodriguez 0-2, and national team player Zeinab Basila won in the under 59 kg category against Lebanese Rebeka Kiameh 2-0, and against Latvian Sofia Carolina 2-0, but lost to Belgian Serena Baje 0-2.
Today, national team junior players Abdullah Shaheen and Islam Al-Natsheh are competing in the championship.
