Khaberni - The U.S. Central Command has announced its intention to impose a comprehensive naval blockade on Iranian ports, starting from April 13th at 10:00 AM, in a step that represents a new escalation in the ongoing confrontation.
The Command -in a statement- said that the blockade will include all Iranian ports facing the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, affirming that it will target all commercial ships of various nationalities, whether entering or leaving the Iranian coast.
It added that it will issue an official notice containing additional details to commercial mariners prior to the implementation of the blockade, urging all ships in the Gulf of Oman and at the entrances of the Strait of Hormuz to follow these notices closely.
At the same time, the U.S. Central Command emphasized that its forces "will not impede the freedom of navigation" for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz to and from non-Iranian ports, in an attempt to reassure international trade.
