Wall Street Journal 60 of Revolutionary Guard Boats Still Threaten Navigation

Khaberni - The "Wall Street Journal" reported that the United States has managed to destroy a large part of the Iranian naval fleet, but has not succeeded in neutralizing the fleet upon which Tehran relies to control the Strait of Hormuz.

In a report that dealt with Tehran's military naval capabilities, the newspaper cited Farzin Nadimi, a senior researcher at the Washington Institute, stating that more than 60% of the Revolutionary Guards' fast-attack craft fleet remains intact and continues to pose a threat.

David DeRoche, a former Pentagon official, said that the smaller boats, which are more numerous, are harder to detect via satellite compared to larger ships.

Additionally, Chris Long, a former official in the British Navy, revealed that the Revolutionary Guards use hidden underground docks along the rocky coast to store hundreds of small attack boats.

The speakers confirmed to the American newspaper that neutralizing and removing these capabilities, especially the small attack crafts, will take a long time by the United States.

In the Pakistani capital Islamabad, a 15-hour round of talks between the Iranian and American delegations concluded, and the Iranian government announced that the talks would continue for another round based on a Pakistani proposal and mutual consent.

Sources from both sides stated that part of the current disagreements focuses on the Strait of Hormuz, while the "Tasnim" agency quoted an informed source confirming that no change in the field situation at the strait will occur until Washington agrees to a "reasonable agreement."
