Due to a Cake in the Oven A Woman is Fined and Loses Her License

Khaberni - The Romanian police fined a driver for excessive speeding, after she justified it by saying she needed to hurry to prevent the cake she had in the oven from burning.

The woman in Romania mentioned that she left the cake baking in the oven on the eve of Orthodox Easter.

The police explained that she was driving at a speed of 176 kilometers per hour, which is very high for a narrow country road in the southeast of the country.

The Constana County police department mentioned in a post on Facebook that the driver tried to justify the excessive speed with a "culinary drama".

Most Orthodox Christians in Romania are celebrating Easter this week, one week after the celebration by Catholics and Protestants.

The police imposed a fine on the driver exceeding 1800 Lei (about $410), pointing out that this amount is enough to buy "20 high-quality ready-made Cozonac cakes".

Her driving license was also withdrawn for four months, giving her now "plenty of time, walking on her feet, to learn all the secrets of baking," according to the police officers.
