Khaberni - In conjunction with the arrival of a Pakistani military force to Saudi Arabia, sources revealed an anticipated visit by Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to Saudi Arabia in the coming days, without revealing additional details about the nature of the visit that is due to be his second in less than a month, according to Al Arabiya.
According to sources, the visit is expected to discuss developments in ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran, in addition to discussing ways to de-escalate in the region, in an effort to reach a permanent ceasefire. Pakistan had previously confirmed its readiness to host these talks in Islamabad, describing them as a "crucial opportunity" to end the ongoing war in the Middle East for weeks.
This coincides with the announcement by the Saudi Ministry of Defense of the arrival of a Pakistani military force at King Abdulaziz Air Base, as part of the joint strategic defense agreement between the two countries. The force includes fighter jets and support aircraft belonging to the Pakistani Air Force, in a move aimed at enhancing joint military coordination and improving readiness levels.
Security warnings issued by Islamabad have emphasized Pakistan's commitment to stand by the Kingdom, under the joint defense treaty, in the event of escalating tensions, especially with the increase in Iranian attacks recently.
Since the escalation began on February 28 last year, both sides have intensified their joint coordination through ongoing communications and discussions on regional developments. This coordination continued even after the announcement of a temporary ceasefire mediated by Pakistan for two weeks, which halted a war that had lasted for more than a month.
In this context, Saudi Arabia welcomed reaching a permanent agreement between the United States and Iran, confirming that it would enhance security and stability in the region.
