Khaberni - The Our Jordan is Paradise program achieved positive indicators during its first week of launch, reflecting the vitality and inclusiveness of the tourism sector, where the number of participants reached 5400, distributed across 168 trips and buses with the participation of 168 tourist guides, 43 tourism and travel offices, 20 restaurants, and 30 hotels and tourist camps.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, today Saturday, the new destinations witnessed notable turnout, where the area of Iraq Al Amir attracted 881 participants, Umm ar-Rasas 400 participants, Petra within the overnight programs 950 participants, and Wadi Rum 400 participants, while Aqaba recorded 371 participants, alongside 100 participants through direct booking via private car.
The rest of the participants were spread across various tourist destinations in different provinces of the kingdom, notably Ajloun, Umm Qais, Tabqat Fahl, Al-Maghtas, Jerash, and Rehab, reflecting the diversity of the Jordanian tourism product and its ability to attract different segments.
The Ministry explained that the "Our Jordan is Paradise" program comes as part of the government measures aimed at revitalizing the tourism sector and enhancing domestic tourism, which contributes to supporting and empowering local communities and stimulating economic activities in them, where the cabinet decided in its session held last week to extend the exemption from entry fees to archaeological sites within the program, in addition to continuing to cover the costs of the trips until the date of December 31st next.
And added: "The program confirms the approach of inclusiveness in revitalizing the tourism sector by involving all its components, including tourism and travel offices, the tourism transport sector, restaurants, hotels, camps, tourist guides, and different tourism experiences, which contributes to expanding the economic impact and enhancing local development in various regions of the kingdom"
