Khaberni - The Qatari Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced today the resumption of studies and the provision of services in person at nurseries, kindergartens, public and private schools, and educational service centers, starting from tomorrow, Sunday, based on the approved academic calendar.
The ministry clarified in a statement that the resumption of in-person studies in public schools will include the implementation of alternative assessment procedures for the recently announced mid-term exams of the second academic semester, noting that the adoption of electronic applications does not conflict with the in-person learning mode, but is considered a flexible assessment tool to measure learning outcomes under various circumstances.
Regarding private schools, the Qatari ministry indicated that it will implement internal assessments according to approved educational plans, while adhering to the application of centralized exams in accordance with the decisions and instructions issued by the examination boards.
It emphasized the readiness of the educational infrastructure in the State of Qatar, the availability of systems and procedural frameworks necessary to deal with various conditions and changes, whether in the mode of in-person education or distance learning, including educational plans and mechanisms of teaching and assessment.
It also noted that the transition between educational modes is subject to precise standards in coordination with the relevant authorities in the country, achieving a balance between the continuity of the educational process and ensuring the highest levels of security and safety in learning environments.
The ministry concluded its statement by affirming that it is continuing to monitor the current situation and will announce any updates through its official channels at the appropriate time, in a manner that serves the public interest and ensures the safety of students and educational staff.
