Our Jordan is Paradise for domestic tourism attracts 5400 participants in its first week

Khaberni - The "Our Jordan is Paradise" program achieved positive indicators during its first week that reflect the vitality and inclusiveness of the tourism sector components, with a total of 5400 participants distributed over 168 trips and buses involving 168 tourist guides, 43 travel and tourism offices, 20 restaurants, and 30 hotels and tourist camps.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, on Saturday, new destinations drew remarkable attention, with Iraq Al-Amir area attracting 881 participants, Umm ar-Rasas 400 participants, Petra registering 950 overnight stay participants, Wadi Rum 400 participants, and Aqaba 371 participants, in addition to 100 participants through direct booking via private cars.

The rest of the participants were spread over a number of tourist destinations across various provinces of the kingdom, including Ajloun, Umm Qais, Tabaqat Fahl, Al-Maghtas, Jerash, and Rehab, which reflects the diversity of the Jordanian tourist product and its ability to attract different segments.

The ministry explained that the "Our Jordan is Paradise" program is part of the government's measures aimed at stimulating the tourism sector and enhancing domestic tourism, contributing to the support and empowerment of local communities and stimulating economic activities within, as the cabinet decided in its session last week to extend the exemption from entry fees to archaeological sites included in the program, in addition to continuing to cover the costs of trips until December 31st next.

It added: "The program confirms the inclusive approach in stimulating the tourism sector by involving all its components, including travel and tourism offices, the tourism transportation sector, restaurants, hotels, camps, and tourist guides, and various tourist experiences, which contributes to expanding the economic impact and enhancing local development in various regions of the kingdom."
