According to her, it is best to drink chamomile herbal tea in the evening, as the apigenin antioxidant it contains promotes relaxation and gently reduces stress levels. Sour cherry juice also makes it easier to fall asleep. This drink is a dietary source of melatonin, which helps the body adapt to the biological rhythms of sleep more quickly.

She says: "Milk is also ideal for the evening. Because it contains the amino acid tryptophan, a building block of serotonin, which later converts to melatonin."

According to her, before going to bed, it is also possible to drink beverages with valerian root, as they help increase the level of gamma-aminobutyric acid, the main inhibitory neurotransmitter of the nervous system, which helps eliminate unnecessary thoughts.

The expert indicates that it is necessary to make this a daily habit, and then the brain receives a signal that the day has ended and that it is time to rest. Also, it is important to avoid consuming drinks such as coffee and concentrated tea in the evening.

She says: "The caffeine in these drinks inhibits adenosine, which accumulates during the day and causes fatigue. Thus, drinking them in the evening deceives the brain, depriving it of the signal that indicates the need to rest."

In addition, the expert does not recommend consuming alcoholic beverages, as they negatively affect the quality of sleep. It is also advisable to avoid sugar-rich drinks, as they cause a sharp increase in insulin levels, which provides excess energy to the body when it needs to slow down.
