The President of the House of Representatives, His Excellency Mr. Mazen Al-Qadi, welcomed the university delegation, emphasizing the importance of the academic institutions’ openness toward state institutions, and its role in preparing a conscious generation that truly understands the mechanisms of decision-making and legislation in Jordan, stating that such visits contribute to building legal culture and enhancing active citizenship among youth..
This visit was directed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors Dr. Maher Al-Hourani, the President of the University Professor Dr. Sari Hamdan, and the Dean of the Faculty of Law Professor Dr. Ossed Dheebat, aimed at providing students with the opportunity to directly observe the legislative work mechanisms and enhance their legal awareness..
The visit began with a tour of the council's facilities, where students learned about the nature of the legislative authority’s work and the operating mechanisms in parliament, including the role of parliamentary committees in reviewing and discussing draft laws before presenting them at the general sessions, as well as understanding the constitutional procedures that legislative processes go through at various stages..
The students also had the chance to attend a part of a legislative session, where they closely followed parliamentary debates, session management methods, and voting procedures on draft laws, which contributed to enhancing their practical understanding of the legislative and oversight roles of the council..
The visit program included a dialogue session with several MPs, during which the deputies answered the students’ inquiries and discussed various legal and legislative issues, as well as the challenges facing parliamentary work, along with the council's role in developing legislation and keeping up with political and economic developments..
