Jordan Chamber of Industry Jordan will not be significantly affected by the rise in global fertilizer prices

Khaberni - Ahmed Al-Bass, the representative of the fertilizer sector in the Jordan Chamber of Industry, said on Friday that Jordan will not be significantly affected by the rise in fertilizer prices, thanks to the availability of phosphate and potash, explaining that global nitrogen raw material prices have risen significantly but this will not greatly reflect on the local market; due to the good relationships Jordan has with these raw material producers in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

Al-Bass added in statements to "Al-Mamlaka" TV, that the compound and specialty fertilizers needed by farmers in Jordan are available in the market without a significant increase in their prices, calling for not to rush to buy them, confirming the availability of sufficient quantities in the market.

He clarified that the rise in energy prices and some production inputs may affect prices marginally, asserting that vegetable prices are not primarily linked to the prices of fertilizers and production inputs, and that their prices depend on the global food demand, noting a production decline during this period due to cold weather, which has led to an increase in their prices, expecting an improvement in production quantities after an increase in temperature levels.
