Khaberni - American media reported on Friday, citing informed sources, that American negotiators intend to request the release of Americans detained in Iran in the upcoming talks aimed at ending the war.
The American Vice President J.D. Vance left the United States on Friday heading to Pakistan to participate in the anticipated talks with Iran, expressing hope for a "positive" outcome that would definitively end the Iran war.
Vance told reporters before his plane took off from Andrews Air Base near the American capital: "We will try to conduct positive negotiations," adding "If the Iranians are ready to negotiate in good faith, we are certainly ready to extend a hand. If they try to manipulate us, they will find that the negotiating team will not welcome that."
Pakistan hosts anticipated negotiations between Iran and the United States on the third day of the ceasefire between the two countries, while Tehran's participation remains unconfirmed against the backdrop of Israeli raids that killed more than 300 people in Lebanon on Wednesday.
The Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Thursday that these raids, the most violent since the war extended to Lebanon, would render the anticipated negotiations with the United States "meaningless".
Also, the spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ismail Baqaee, affirmed that "conducting talks aimed at ending the war depends on the United States respecting its commitments to cease fire on all fronts, especially in Lebanon," according to what was reported by ISNA agency.
