Khaberni - The General Corporation for Food and Drug announced the availability of the drug containing the active substance colchicine of Spanish origin, alongside the locally manufactured drug.
The Corporation clarified in a press statement that it has now completed the official procedures to allow the circulation of the mentioned drug, including passing the laboratory test at the Corporation's laboratories before distribution, noting that communication with the concerned warehouse has been made to start distributing it to pharmacies and taking orders during the current weekend holiday.
The Corporation explained that this came after taking urgent measures and forming an emergency team under the direct assignment and supervision of its General Director, Professor Dr. Rana Obeidat.
The team included the Director of the Drug Directorate, the Director of the Laboratories Directorate, and several specialized technicians from the Head of the Department of Laboratory Affairs in the Drug Directorate and the Drug Control Laboratory Department in the Laboratories Directorate, along with a number of concerned staff.
