Khaberni - Al-Azhar strongly condemned the "brutal crimes" committed by Israel in various parts of Lebanon, which resulted in the deaths of dozens of victims and injuries to hundreds of civilians.
Al-Azhar stated in a declaration that "these aggressions represent a serious escalation and a blatant violation of all international and humanitarian laws and treaties," adding that "the occupying entity's targeting of innocent civilians reflects its perennial desire for aggression and bloodshed, its disregard for human and ethical values, its policy of inflaming wars and spreading chaos, and its indifference to the sanctity of innocent blood."
Al-Azhar warned of Israel's attempts "to ignite the region with the purpose of breaching the current truce and ceasefire agreement," emphasizing that the absence of international and legal accountability "has emboldened the occupier to persist in its criminal behavior and commit more crimes, thus posing a serious threat to the security and stability of the region."
Al-Azhar urged the international community to take immediate action to stop these "crimes," and to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities in protecting civilians, and preserving Lebanon’s unity, stability, and sovereignty over its entire territory.
